Important information about how AFE Capital works, what a merchant cash advance is, and how to read anything you're offered.

AFE Capital's role

AFE Capital Connect is a connector, not a lender. AFE Capital does not itself make loans, extend credit, or fund merchant cash advances or any other form of commercial financing. AFE Capital connects eligible businesses with third-party funding providers and does not guarantee approval, a specific funding amount, terms, or funding speed. All underwriting, approval decisions, and final terms are determined solely by the third-party funding provider you’re matched with, under that provider’s own criteria and process.

How a match works

When you submit the application, AFE Capital shares the information you provide with third-party funding providers in its network to identify options that may fit your business. If a provider is interested, they — not AFE Capital — will contact you directly to continue the process, which may include requesting additional documentation and presenting you with a specific offer. Any offer, its pricing, and its terms come from that provider, and any agreement you enter into is between you and that provider.

What a merchant cash advance is

A merchant cash advance is a commercial transaction involving the sale of a portion of a business’s future receivables in exchange for an upfront amount — it is not a loan. Pricing is typically expressed as a factor rate applied to the advance amount, not as an interest rate or annual percentage rate (APR), and the two are not directly comparable without independent calculation. Because it is not a loan, a merchant cash advance is not subject to the same laws that govern traditional business loans, including usury laws. Other forms of sales-based or commercial financing a provider offers may have different structures and terms; review the specific terms of any offer you receive.

No guarantees

Submitting the application does not guarantee approval, a specific funding amount, specific pricing or terms, or a specific funding timeline. Any time frame described on the Site (for example, in connection with how quickly funding can be completed) refers to typical experience after a provider has approved a request and all required steps have been completed — it is not a promise about your individual timeline, which depends on the provider, your business, and the completeness of your documentation.

Reading an offer

If you receive a specific financing offer from a provider, review the amount, pricing (factor rate or otherwise), payment structure and frequency, any fees, and the total cost before accepting. Some states require a provider to give you a standardized commercial financing disclosure with a specific offer; that disclosure, when applicable, comes from the provider making the offer as part of its own process, separately from anything on this Site.

Where AFE Capital currently operates

AFE Capital currently accepts applications from businesses in all 50 states and DC. See Requirements for other eligibility guidelines.

Communications and consent

The application asks you to separately confirm your agreement to AFE Capital’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, your authorization for AFE Capital to share your information with third-party providers, and your consent to be contacted about your inquiry. A provider you’re connected with may separately request your authorization — for example, to obtain credit or financial information — as part of its own underwriting process; that request and any related disclosure comes from the provider, not from AFE Capital’s initial application.

Questions

If anything about a specific offer, provider, or your application is unclear, contact the provider that made the offer directly, or reach AFE Capital through the contact form.
